And so begins the first fall in almost forever that I'm not heading back to school.
A belated happy new year; I spent mine in Los Angeles, where I got to meet a lovely woman that I've known for a decade and never got the chance to meet in person before.
I got a newish book from a favorite author at the library, and opened it to find his autograph gracing the title page. Half of me wants to steal it, yelling at the library, "YOU HAVE ENOUGH BOOKS AS IT IS, YOU WON'T MISS THIS ONE." The other half is the half that's been too nerdy in the past to risk bad library karma when I've come across out-of-print books that I was just dying to own.
In other nerdy news, I'm just thrilled that the new TV season is starting tonight. As I've come across billboards and print ads for the shows during the past few weeks, I've felt like cheering, "Look! My friends are coming back!" The catalyst for my watching-too-much-TV (law school) might be over, but my favorite shows sure aren't (except, RIP Veronica Mars).
I really, really want to redesign this site and move everything over to Movable Type. I downloaded the MT files a year ago and they've sat on my hard drive collecting metaphorical dust. Part of it is that I've been away from this stuff for so long that I have nooo idea what to do anymore (I'm close to having to look up how to make text bold...okay, maybe I'm not that bad...). We'll see.
