Old parents
05.28.03
Paul McCartney's 60, and he's about to be a new father. What is up with that? The poor kid, by the time it's 10 years old, its dad is going to be 70. He's not exactly going to be able to play baseball or other things like that with the kid. Who knows how long he's going to live; what 20-year-old wants to deal with their parent dying of old age? Just because you can still shoot sperm doesn't mean you should, I firmly believe that parents should be around in the child's life well into adulthood.
In other, news, I just got word that my sorority had a 2.99 GPA for the spring semester, which ranks us fourth out of all 14 sororities on campus and fifth out all sororities and frats on campus. This makes me very happy, being the Vice President of Scholarship and all. Good job, Sig Kaps!!

Strippers
05.24.03
Strippers. All men love them. Ex #3 used to abandon me on Saturday nights to go to strip clubs with his friends, even though I was old enough to get into them. Something about staring at ugly naked girls just isn't as sexy with your girlfriend sitting right there, I guess.
I was reading this article in Allure magazine about strippers today. Guess what the #1 "first-aid" item they keep backstage is? Gas-X and Pepto Bismal.
Yeah. I'm betting they're looking really sexy in your eyes about now.

Missing CDs
05.23.03
Silly me...
For the longest time, there was this CD I swore I had that I couldn't find in my CD binder (all my cases are in a box in the basement, since I can't carry them back and forth between home and school). I finally chalked it up to faulty memory and figured I had wanted the CD but never bought it. Today I was looking for another CD I know I have but can't find, and I decided to look in my stereo in my room that hasn't been used in a year. Lo and behold, I find the first CD I thought I imagined having.
I guess I'm only half as nuts as I thought.

Sunburnt
05.22.03
We've had a two-day break from the cloudy, rainy weather, and I've already managed to get sunburned. My shoulders are mildly red, and I have the shadow of my tanktop straps on them. Hopefully it will disappear soon; in any event, the next week is supposed to be rainy and cloudy, I won't have to worry about risking it again.
Speaking of this next week, it is Memorial Tournament Week. I live in the middle of a subdivision golf legend Jack Nickalus built, and his golf course is a stone's throw from my house. This means that tourists and people who live here who are only golf fans one week out of the year are going to be congesting my area, making it difficult to drive even two blocks. Traditionally, the Memorial Tournament is a rainy, rainy occasion. I find perverse pleasure in driving by people stuck without an umbrella scrambling to get to their cars.

Evil people
05.19.03
I love evil people. I only wish I could be as diabolically evil as some of the people I know. Evil plots to bring oh-so-deserving people to their shame are just so...so...evil.
Did I mention that there was a third ferret here when I got home from college a week ago? Animals just seem to appear here...Her name is Tequila Rose; one of the other ferrets is named Frita Margarita. No, my family does not drink too much. :D

*grumbles*
05.15.03
So I got the grades I was expecting for this semester -- 5 A's and a B, which gives me a nice 3.83 gpa for the semester. However, the only effect it had on my cumulative gpa was to bump it from a 3.65 to a 3.67. I worked my ass off for that? I'm all convinced I'll never make it to UCLA now. Granted, 3.67 was the median gpa for the incoming class in 2002 for the law school, but still.
That C in Geology 100 is going to haunt me forever. It wasn't even a 101 class. The next time I say, "I don't want to take a class I've already had before, I'm going to be adventerous and try something new," kick me. I would have been fine in either Chemisty 100 or Biology 100, but nooooo. I had to be a nerd.

At home
05.14.03
It's been nice, not having to go to school. I've been taking my time unpacking, but with good reason...I rearranged my closet and moved half of my clothes into the closet in my 2nd room (my sister moved to the basement a year and a half ago). I have my long sleeved and short sleeved shirts on the top rung of my one closet, and tank tops on the bottom rung, and in my second closet I have pants on the top rung and skirts on the bottom.
I definitely do not need any more pants. The only thing I need is a nice pair of non-denim long white pants; Express unfortunately failed me in that area yesterday, but I *did* get a very nice pair of white capris. However, I have a scary amount of jeans and black pants. And I just remembered that I DO have a pair of white non-denim pants, but they have brown pinstripes and I have no clue where they are...dammit.
I definitely need new shirts, since I just took about twenty to the thirft store to sell. I especially need basics and shirts to wear to my new job, since I have to look professional.
I have way too many shoes and no where to put them all, and I still need more. I need a pair of dark brown strappy sandals. Not tan. Not beige. Not light brown. DARK BROWN. I went to DSW yesterday, which has thousands of shoes in its inventory. All the brown sandals were either tan or over $50. I just can't pay more than fifty bucks for a few leather straps and a heel.
Speaking of my new job, I'm interning at a small, all-female law firm that specializes in estate planning and real estate. They want to give me my own projects. I'm very excited.

Frat life
05.07.03
Want to be amused? Turn on MTV's Fraternity Life and watch the petty stuff they bicker over. Stereotypes about sororities are largely false, but I have firm belief that frat guys are the idiot, drunk, hazing men everyone thinks they are. I am largely unimpressed by all of the frat guys I have met, except for a handful who are dating my sisters. All the good men are taken, it seems.

I wanna go home
05.05.03
I'm sick of school. I have four days left, with exams on three of those days. I'm sick of being sick, I need to take a shower and shave my legs, but I don't even know if I can stand up long enough for that. I don't want to study, I just want to sit down and play a video game all the way through uninterrupted. Xenosaga has been sitting on my shelf for months now unopened. Dark Cloud 2 has been beckoning from inside my PS2 because it wants me to finish it. I need to finish Zelda: The Wind Waker on my TV at home, since the TV I have here at school is too dark to see where I'm going.
Enough whining, I'm off to take a shower. Call an ambulance for me if I'm not back in a half hour.

I'm sick
05.03.03
Done with classes, now I have four exams, and I only have to pass two of them. It's quite refreshing to know that you did well enough early on that you only need 50 of the 100 points from the exam to still get an A in the class.
I'm convinced I'm dying of SARS, even though my symptoms don't match up with it. I think I've slept most of the last three days away, after going to my last class yesterday, I slept from 2 until 9 at night.
My mind is too numb right now to say anything witty. Go see Melantha's new layout, she has a gorgeous side-scrolling thing going on. Hostess Kristy has a new layout too, and as usual, makes me feel like I have the HTML skills of a bug.

New layout
05.01.03
New layout, finally. All of the opinion and "I'm in love" pages are still purple and blue, but I wanted to get the bulk of it up. Since Buffy the Vampire Slayer ends in three weeks, I decided to pay tribute. It's been my favorite show for 7 years, I don't know what I'm going to do now.
Please tell me if anything looks wonky/purple and blue/broken. I point all my links to my hard drive when I work, so I won't know if I forgot to change one.
