No more classes
04.30.04
Today was my last day of college classes ever. Very weird. I don't graduate until August, however, since I have to complete an internship this summer that requires a 15 page paper. *sigh* The internship should be fun though; I'm working at a private criminal law firm downtown.
This weekend I'm checking out Chicago-Kent law school in Chicago, and sometime soon I plan on heading out to LA to look at Loyola. I hate decisions.
I'm afraid I don't have any hilarious stories to report, as Melantha always does, but I'm happy to report that I got a 100 on a paper I wrote while I was very tipsy on wine.

I have a question.
Where are the Ally McBeal DVDs?
I'm having a major urge to watch the neurotic lawyer again, it's been too long since the show went off air.
The final season doesn't count, of course. I'm still bitter that Robert Downey Jr. couldn't keep drugs out of his nose and his character had to leave. Because of him, Ally lost her perfect match and the producers brought in all these stupid young people who no one cared about and everyone stopped watching and it all went downhill. *sighs*

Jessica and...Angels?
04.18.04
So I noticed that Jessica Simpson released a re-issue of her newest CD, so I went to Amazon to see what was different about it. Well, she added two covers of other songs.
She redid Robbie Williams' "Angels".
This is blasphemous. I haven't even listened to her version, but the reviews suggest that she butchered it and didn't even try to stay faithful to the original. Now, I like Jessica and all three of her CDs, but no one messes with Angels. It ranks as one of my top 5 favorite songs of all times, and the idea of it being warbled in a voice that is not Robbie's makes me shudder. Especially a woman's voice. It wasn't meant to be sung like that.
*grumbles*
Two more weeks of college classes. Ever. Geez.

Boob obsession
04.13.04
Getting Janet's new CD convinces me that the whole boob thing was not an accident. In every picture in the CD booklet, her boobs are prominently displayed through unbuttoned shirts and the like. It's really ridiculeous, it's like, "Yes, Janet, you're a woman. You have boobs. Good job." I have boobs too, and I find myself getting through the day just fine without focusing on them too much.
Speaking of the CD, since it has one of those "parental advisory" stickers on it, no one under 17 can buy it. Guess who got carded, at Meijer of all places, when she tried to buy it. *rolls eyes* Come on, do I really look under 17? Granted, it was at 3:30 in the morning and I had on my pajamas and no makeup, but really what teenager is out at the campus Meijer at 3:30 a.m.?

Week of hell is over
04.03.04
I finally get a chance to breathe. This week I had 20 pages of papers due as well as an exam on Thursday. One of the papers counts for 40% of my grade in the class, not like that puts any pressure on or anything.
So, regarding the law school decision. After talking to my uncle's client who is a partner at an attorney placement firm in Los Angeles, I turned down Southwestern and their 45k offer. She works with students from law schools all over the area every day, and she says that Loyola is the better school and people from Loyola have a much easier time getting jobs than people from Southwestern (which she should know, seeing how it's her job to help them get jobs).
And then Loyola Chicago just told me they want me. So now I have two cities to pick from. Will mentioned looking into San Diego PD, and I told him that if I go to Chicago and he goes to San Diego, I will kill him. :D
Last weekend was an interesting one; I was a moraler for my roommate for our campus's Dance Marathon. Amy was a dancer, which meant that she had to stay awake and on her feet for 32 hours. All the proceeds go to a children's hospital in Toledo, and it's a pretty big thing on our campus. It's the largest student-run philanthropy in Ohio, and if you get the original Chicken Soup for the College Student's Soul (or whatever the title is), there's an entry in there from our school about it. It was quite an experience, even though my weekend consisted of rotations of sleeping for four hours and being at the rec center for four hours.
