And just like that, I am done with the semester. For the first time in forever, I can watch a movie or play a video game without feeling that twinge of guilt that I should be working on something else. Next semester should be better than this semester, although Personal Income Tax has the potential to be a major boring headache, and then there's the necessary evil of Legal Writing 4 (which is the final legal writing class of my law school career!).
I've recognized, at this point, that I have a pattern of freaking out and chilling that I go through every semester. I flip back and forth between both ends of the spectrum a dozen times in the last two months of class, including several times while taking each final exam (which is always a stress inducing time, since the entire grade for each non-Legal Writing class is based entirely on the final).
The best part is always when finals are over, and I can finally just mellow out. I don't stress out about what my grades are going to be (it would be hazardous to my health; the grades just trickle in one by one as the professors get around to turning them in, it could be weeks before I receive any or all of them), and I don't go back and review my notes and then stress out about, "Did I remember to say that? Did I get that right? Dammit, I forgot THAT." Right now it's 3:30 in the morning, and I'm blissfully listening to David Bowie and playing a video game and feeling so apathetic about school that someone might mistake me for a slacker who never cracked open a book all semester.
