What I learned today: people who are drugged up on codeine and muscle relaxers are really, really amusing, especially when they totally slur their words and don't realize they're making all sorts of funny noises. Not that I'd advocate people horribly wrenching their backs just for my amusement, and I'd certainly rather my friends experience pain-free existences (not counting the fact that they have pain-in-the-butt-me in their lives), but if it's there...
I just watched Angelia Jolie's movie Life Or Something Like It, and I wasn't expecting much since I remember it getting absolutely horrible reviews. Talk about a surprise; it was the best movie I've watched in a while. I think the last time I was so pleasantly surprised by a movie was when I saw Big Fish. It's pretty sad that I've gotten 87 movies from Blockbuster's DVDs-by-mail service this year and so few of them have actually left me really, really happy with my selection.
