10/14/2005: "The record labels are raping me"

Song of the Day: Atomic Kitten - You Are

This is bullshit.

The long and the short of it: Mariah Carey is re-releasing her newest album with four new tracks on it.

Mariah, darling, I'm a huge fan. I own all your CDs. Even Glitter. But know what? I already paid full price for The Emancipation of Mimi the very first week it came out. I was one of those people who helped it hit #1. And I refuse to do anything except illegally download these four new tracks. Sure, I could pay 99 cents per song on iTunes, but then that's $4 added to the original price of the CD that I already bought. The CD's original price probably wouldn't have changed from what I actually paid if you had just included these songs to begin with. For all I know, you orchestrated this so that all your loyal fans would shell out more money further down the road. I did everything legally the first time around. I earned these illegal downloads, fair and sqaure.

Didn't Mariah die of an overdose like 4 years ago... then come back as a zombie to continue releasing crappy music, thus fulling the prophecy made by Nostradamus of a world-wide plague that would hit in 2005?

Or was that an episode of South Park?
