Song of the Day: Ben Moody feat. Anastacia - Everything Burns

Last Friday morning, my calf muscle spasmed in one of those asking-God-for-mercy cramps. I hate them, and I'm always tempted to punch my fist through a wall when I get one. To make matters worse, the same muscle has continued to spasm every now and then over the last few days, and when it's not cramping, it's sore as hell. I keep stretching and increasing my calcium intake, since I've heard a lack of calcium can cause muscle cramps, but it seems intent on giving me hell. Does anyone know what I can do to end my misery, aside from chopping my leg off?

I think potassium can help with muscle cramps. :-)

Dan says a high dosage of Advil will help... "particularly" Advil for muscle cramps is 10x better than any other pain killer.

He also says continuously working the calf area in stretches, though it will hurt, will eventually help as well.

Hopefully the advice from a real fireman will help. ;-)

And sorry for the redundancy of the word 'help' in my last post. *sigh*

I think I'm brainless today.

randomly stumbled onto your page. i'm in school for massage therapy, we deal with a lot of cramps during sporting events.
we were taught that cramps were caused by metabolite imbalances, especially due to dehydration in the summer.
try some simple gatorade or increasing your water intake. and keep stretching it like you are. you could also try soacking your leg in some warm water, to try and relax the calf muscle.
