06/29/2005: "FCUK it"

Song of the Day: Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name

I must have this shirt. I've wanted a FCUK shirt forever and ever, after first visiting their Pasadena store a few years ago, and it never occurred to me that there actually might be a store in Chicago. 'Cause Chicago is totally hip like that. You will notice that there isn't a store in Ohio. See, Ohio may get H&M and Sephora, but it will never get a FCUK.

And they even have a logo shirt specifically for my city. With the influx of tourists lately, I've suddenly felt sorry for anyone who doesn't live here. I watch all the visitors walking up and down Michigan Avenue, and I think, "I'm so sorry you all have to leave!" It's become unfathomable to me why anyone would choose not to live here. Why would anyone choose, say, Ohio, with its lack of FCUK stores, over Chicago?

I choose Ohio for a couple of reasons:
1. I can drive anywhere in 15 minutes from my new apartment and get to 3 wonderful shopping malls. I would miss driving...
2. Apartments are 10x cheaper
3. The lack of good men in Chicago... I think I got a pretty good one here, and he has a contract with the FD for 25 yrs.

But... the one thing Ohio is missing... YOU!

That's something else that's unfathomable. WANTING to drive. Last time I was back in Ohio, it drove me bonkers that just to get food, or a cup of coffee, or a book, I had to get in a car and drive forever and ever instead of just walking two blocks out my front door.

And I'm not so sure about a lack of good men in Chicago...the one I've just started dating seems very, very good to me. :D

Since Ohio is missing ME, you and Dan should move here. He could work from home. We'll get him a really powerful fire hose so he can put out fires in Ohio without ever leaving Chicago's city limits. I'm sure they make them. :D

And this comment just turned into its own entry. Oops.

Yeah, I used to live in Ohio, and I don't miss it one bit. I couldn't take the weather. Now, FCUK I do like. I have a really great little leather purse from there.

Actually, as a resident of the fabulous city of Chicago, I've gotta say that I don't mind the tourists. I'm glad they get to come and see our wonderful city! Don't be too hard on them...
