05/30/2005: "That's just fabulous"
Song of the Day: Ashley Jade - Laid Bare
This Sunday-night-slash-Monday-morning, I stayed up way past when my body was calling out for sleep in order to finish up the final four episodes of Sex and the City. Since this show has consumed so much of my time over the last three weeks, I'm kind of lost now as far as what my next obsession is going to be. I will shamefully admit that I, the girl who mocks those who cry at sappy movies, totally burst out crying at the end of the very last episode. It didn't hit me like this when it originally aired, so I'll blame it on the body-crying-out-for-sleep factor, but there was something totally heart-wrenching about it.
And now I must share the show's final words. I may have blogged about this before, so bear with me, but ever since I first heard it well over a year ago, I have absolutely thought that it's the wisest, most important thing anyone has ever, ever said, and it is worth repeating over and over:
"Later that day, I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging, and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the 'you' you love, well, that's just fabulous."
