05/04/2005: "Brooke's brain"

Song of the Day: Ben E. King - Stand By Me

In case anyone wants to know how my brain works, here's an example of a thought process that went through my head last night:

1. Bo sings "Stand By Me" on American Idol.
2. I go download "Stand By Me" and listen to it a dozen times.
3. I realize it's been a really long time since I've seen the movie Stand By Me.
4. I realize it's also been a really long time since I've seen The Lost Boys, which also has Kiefer Sutherland in it.
5. I muse that as cool as people think Kiefer is as on 24, he was at his coolest when he was a vampire.
6. I go to Blockbuster.com to add The Lost Boys and Stand By Me to my list of movies to rent.
7. I end up reshuffling my list to put both Hero and House of Flying Daggers at the very top.
8. I don't end up putting Stand By Me or The Lost Boys on my list, but I do decide that as much as I adore The Breakfast Club, the other two are the epitome of the Perfect 80s Movie. Just because they don't have Molly Ringwald in them does not lessen their perfection.
9. I decide, screw renting these movies, I need to own them.

Somehow I went from watching American Idol to deciding I need to spend money. Just like earlier today, when I decided that the extreme frustration I felt over not getting into a class for the fall and having to completely redo my schedule and get rid of my 3-day weekends in order to take a class I'm not even interested in just so I have a full course load led me to decide I really, really needed to buy a Starbucks coffee. My brain must be connected to my wallet.

You have a thought process? I thought you just flowed randomly.

Since when do you think about things?
