The newest Keds ads show Mischa Barton wearing some ugly shoes, and the catch phrase is, "Be Cool."

Sorry, neither Mischa nor the Keds are evoking any sort of "coolness" for me.

I tried, I really did. I sat there and looked at the shoes and thought, "Cool...be cool..." It didn't work. Eventually, my brain came back around to the fact that they are, in fact, pretty uncool.

Um, yeah. I remember wearing Keds in 8th grade, and they were as ugly then as they are now.
