07/07/2004: "4th of July fun"
If anyone has wondered about Melantha mentioning my last 4th of July, just know that this year's celebration was much more subdued, but a very nice one. Will had a four day weekend, so he drove in to spend it with me, and I finally got my long-wished wish of seeing fireworks with someone I love. As horribly sappy as that sounds, that's also about as sappy as my thoughts get.
Speaking of sappy things, I can't believe that the Walk To Remember guy wrote ANOTHER sappy book that was turned into ANOTHER sappy movie. This is the summer blockbuster season. We're supposed to have movies about THINGS BLOWING UP.
Then again, with all the idiot militants in the Middle East, all you have to do is turn on the evening news to see that.
Pretty much exactly one month left until I move. It can hurry UP already! I'm spending a three-day weekend in Chicago this weekend in order to furnish the apartment...having it all set up and ready to live in is going to make the wait even more excrutiating!!
