06/23/2004: "Denied"
I am beyond relieved that the judge simply removed the offending juror from the Scott Peterson trial and denied the motion for a mistrial.
We all know he did it, let's just move along with the case and send him where he belongs.
I'm currently working on setting up my brand new laptop (insert happy face). I got it on my birthday, although it wasn't a surprise since my dad and I had discussed getting a new one before I go off to law school. There isn't anything tragically wrong with my old one, but it was several years old when I bought it before college, and it was just time to get a new one. It's a ThinkPad like my old one, but it's so much THINNER and LIGHTER. When I picked up the wrapped package, I never would have guessed that there was a laptop in it.
Will sent me FLOWERS for my birthday, they're so pretty and I wasn't expecting them at all. They really made my day. He felt bad he couldn't be here for it, but I don't mind since I know he's busy with family and work and I'll be seeing him this whole weekend for his brother's wedding anyways. I can't wait to dress up, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in a tux (This is Mr. "Dressing up is tucking in my shirt").
