06/30/2003: "LSAT results"

Well, the fateful day is here and I had my destiny handed to me on a silver platter. I got a 160 on the LSAT, which places me in the 83rd percentile and hopefully gets me admission to a law school of my choice. When I took it, I told myself I needed a 160 or better to be satisfied, but I'm not exactly satisfied now that I have it. I chalk it up to me expecting too much from myself. I'm considering re-taking it, but not as seriously as I would be if I'd gotten a lower score. If I'd gotten a 162, I'd be very happy, and I'm not sure if 2 points is reason to retake it. My GPA is high, so I don't have to worry about overcompensating for anything in that area.

I've been neglecting the site...the "I'm in Love" section still has purple graphics in it from the last layout, and I haven't added anything until recently. I don't think I mentioned before that I added a list of the CDs I own, it's under the "Reasons to Love Me" link. Like most things on this site, it's more for my reference than it is for public consumption, but I figure someone might get a kick out of seeing how many boyband CDs I own. I also added an opinion for Jaqueline Carey's Kushiel trilogy, which is by far the best thing I've read all year.

Congrats on your score Brooke.

I got a 155, I guess I am satisfied but I was scoring much higher on the practice tests, I graduated in the top 3 percent of my class so that will help, perhaps, in counterbalancing my score; I have no idea who you are, I randomly came across your site, I decided to post as I am bored at work....

Dear Brooke:

You seem to have an interesting perspective on Law School and the LSAT. Thought you might to see a recent correspondence I had with a "big" publisher who set me up for failure.

Dear Mr. Calhoun,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding errors in Master the LSAT 2003. The book will be amended for the next addition: we will change the string of 4 same-letter answers in a row in the exercise in Chapter 5, change the incorrect answer listed in an example in Chapter 7, and the instance of the missing "E" choice for a question in the 2003 version has already been corrected in the 2004 version.
Again, thank you for contacting us; customer feedback is greatly appreciated.
I can send you a complimentary copy of our Real Estate License Exams, as we discussed. It is general info, with a section on what is required for different states, including Virginia, and includes a practice test of the test required to be licensed in Virginia. Please let me know if this is a title you would be interested in.

Sincerely,

P.S. I also received a full-refund for their admittedly flawed studyguide.
