12/09/2002: "Dreams and glasses"
My alarm clock very rudely interrupted a dream I was having last night. In that dream, I was in an Express-like store where everything was five dollars. Even the shoes. The clothes were all going to be mine, and then the alarm went off. I woke up very sad, needless to say.
Over the weekend, I picked up my new glasses. They're very cute, skinny black plastic frames that have pink on the inside. I found a completely pink and purple pair that I fell in love with, but decided that the novelty of them would get old fast. So I compromised for pink on the inside. People have noticed the pink and commented on it, so I'm content. The funny part is, I had no idea my eyesight was so BAD. It had been three years since I'd had my eyes checked, and I could tell I needed new lenses because I was squinting in my old pair, but it's been so shocking how well I can see in these new ones. I was walking around with my mom, and I would point to something in the distance and exclaim, "I can READ that!"
My dad decided to take a family picture for our Christmas cards this year. Because my sister was included in the picture, it took a good fifteen tries before we got a shot that didn't include crossed eyes or bunny ears on someone's head. Notice my mom's restraining hold on my sister's hands.
By the way, for everyone who has commented on my sister's good looks, keep in mind that the pictures I've put on here were taken when she was dressed up and had actually brushed her hair. This is a much more accurate portrayal of what she normally looks like. I honestly have no clue what she's doing here, I just found it in the new pictures my dad put on my laptop.
