11/06/2002: "Astronomy paper woes"

I have written 7 1/2 pages out of my 8 page astronomy paper, and I have absolutely no clue what to fill that last 1/2 page up with. I've BSed my intro and conclusion as much as possible. I'm writing about the search for aliens. Seriously. It actually frightens me how much money and effort is put into it. I'm not talking about UFOs or alien abductions or X-Files crap, but the labs that are set up all over the world that listen in on radio frequencies. We've actually heard a signal that was possibly from intelligent life elsewhere, it's called the "Wow!" signal that was detected at a lab at OSU. It was never repeated (since the radio telescope that found it has such a narrow bandwith, this was expected), so it wasn't considered concrete proof.

I'm tempted to use my uncle's suggestion and fill the rest of the paper with information about illegal Mexican aliens.
