10/05/2002: "Libraries"
I am a very studious girl. I spent my Saturday at the LIBRARY. Actually, make that plural. For some reason, The Powers That Be at BGSU decided to make a separate science library and stick it on the other side of campus. I have never used the libraries to research before, my knowledge of them up to this point was the Reserve Room where professors put articles on reserve for us to come read.
What I don't get though is what's in the main library. It's 12 stories tall, and everything seems to be on the main floor. The main stacks, the reference stacks, and the government documents are all on the first floor. I know the fourth floor is the pop culture library, and the top floor is a study area, but what makes up the other 3/4 of the library, I have no idea.
I've heard people say they've gotten lost in it, though.
They don't have regular fiction novels at the library, you must go to the BG community library for that. To which I say, WHY? My life would improve dramatically if I could just pick up a book to read on the way home from class. I do not like the decision making process that went into this.
I DO like the government documents section though. I nearly burst with happiness when I found all the FBI reports and stuff they have there.
Now after being so productive and getting all the books I need to do two papers, I am going to play a video game. Too much productiveness is not good for Brooke.
